Big Boy Bed

So if any of you have been reading my statuses on FB, you are well aware of our new bedtime struggles. Major has always been such an awesome sleeper, he's always just gone to sleep on his own and stayed nice and peaceful for 12 or more hours. Well on Friday night, Josh and I finally did it, we turned his crib into a big boy bed and that changed his little schedule all around. Hopefully this is just a temporary little change though! Major "helped" us convert his bed and was SO excited to have his new big boy bed!

We got his bed made and he couldn't wait to lay down...

He was so happy! I was thinking this is great, no problemo! He will adjust just fine! I guess really he has, it has only been a few nights. Josh and I have different ways of dealing with him getting up. Josh wants to lay with him and scratch  his back  until he falls asleep, but I don't want him to get used to having someone lay with him in order to go to sleep. Josh just keeps telling me that for 2 years, I rocked him and loved on him until he was about to fall asleep and then laid him down and I can't expect him to just "click" go to sleep in the big  boy bed all alone in 3 nights time! I guess he is right. A friend of mine who has 3 boys told us to "Super Nanny him"! I laughed out loud and think I prefer that approach, but as of now, we will give him a few days to adjust Josh's way. We are lucky though that when he is asleep, he is out! It is getting him to close his eyes that's the hard part.
Here' s a couple of pictures of Major's new big boy room:

We kept our beloved rocker:

And here is Monkey boy on his new bed!

When he does get up, he is so funny because he locks the door and turns on the lights, then goes into his closet, shuts that door and turns on the lights then plays or looks at books. He is so silly. Last night I noticed his light on and had to knock on the door to get him to open it, when he let me in, he had a John Deere tractor, and excavator and his new fire truck, all ride on's by the way, lined in a row and he told me they were going to work. I said they were going to work in the morning! :) What a mess, at least he keeps us smiling and laughing all the time! He is a sweet, sweet little mischevious mess, but boy oh boy do I love him to pieces!
