My big boy

This morning Josh, Major and I went to the grocery and when we got back, Josh had to go get his tags renewed so I let Major play outside while I unloaded the groceries. First of all, this was the first time that I had ever just left him outside to play while I wasn't just right there. So that got me thinking about what a big boy he is and how nearly 3 years has passed so quickly. Once I got everything inside, I stood at the back windows and just watched him chasing leaves in the backyard and climbing up his "treehouse" then going down the slide. I am in awe of him. I love him so so so much and just can't imagine me without him. It is so hard to believe that he has been on this earth just short of 3 years, but at the same time, it feels like he has always been here. I am really the luckiest person in the world to be called his Mama. So as I am watching him play, I am remembering this time 3 years ago and it is just amazing to me how in 3 years time a cuddly precious newborn baby turns into a completely self sufficient kid.  During this thought,  he runs into the house saying " I have to poop Mama"....thanks for sharing buddy....so he goes and does his business and when I ask if he needs help he says "No, I need pribabcy ". So I gave him his privacy and double checked his work after he was done, and once again my thought returned...it is amazing that less that 3 years ago Major was born and in that short amount of time he has turned into such an amazing, capable, wonderful, independent little boy. I am so grateful that I have been able to be home with him and watch him grow and become the precious little person that he is. There isn't a day that goes by that I am not humbled and overwhelmed with a grateful heart that God brought him to us. I just feel so lucky to be his Mama.

Fill in the blank Friday

1. True Happiness is: being at home, in my comfies, with my boys.
2. The most surreal moment of my life: Getting the call from our case worker on August 27, 2007 telling us that we were going to have a baby boy! After everything we had been through and believing that we may never live that moment, it was truly surreal.
3. My signature texture is: I don't know that I have a signature texture, per se, but I do love the way cashmere feels...who doesn't, right? Any really yummy cotton is great too :)
4.. My signature color is: blah....gray, browns and blacks. I know it is super boring....call me Plain Jane :)
5.. My signature style is: My personal style is rather boring as aforementioned. I mean, I would love to have nice new polished, super cute clothes and shoes all the time, but I guess when you have a little one comfies usually have to do. Not having the newest, nicest or best trends is also something I promised to myself and Josh when I decided to quit my job to stay home with Major. Just one of those small "Mama-sacrifices". My style at home, is very comfy and warm. I like for my house to be organized and clean while also being inviting. I want people to feel like they can come over, put their feet up and just stay a while.
6. If I could choose one store and spend my life savings it would be: Probably Pottery Barn. I love them!!!! I love the style and the feel. I think everything that I want my home to feel like could come out of the Pottery Barn Store.
7. The best thing about autumn: is EVERYTHING! I love, love, love the fall! It is my most favorite time of the year. The weather is PERFECT, football season is awesome, the food is yummy, the smells are amazing and everyday I feel happy because of all those things! :)
